The story

Something already came through the rift.

Vektor is the student teachers have quietly given up on — until he finds a mysterious kinetic gauntlet sealed inside an abandoned observatory. One touch and he can bend gravity itself. But raw power is useless without control, and something enormous has already come through the rift he tore open.

The gauntlet has one rule: only those who seek to learn may wield this power. It strands him in the England of 1687, in the workshop of history’s greatest scientific mind. To control the gauntlet, Vektor has to learn the laws of motion from the man who discovered them — then get home in time to stop the shadow beast tearing through his streets.

He does not do it alone. Brandy, his sharp, tech-savvy best friend, is the one running the numbers.
